Tao One Ltd 天富宫

Founded in 2015, Tao One Ltd 天富宫 (T1) is a Taoist non-profit organisation that stems from a Taoist temple to include social welfare services and promotion of Chinese culture as part of their service arms. The organisation is committed to serve the community through inter-religious collaborations, education, and humanitarian works.

Since inception, other than the usual Taoist ceremonies and community events, T1 has became a strong advocate of national cultural events. Its annual international lion and dragon dance competition which is one of the largest scale in the region, sees over 70 participating teams from around Asia. To celebrate racial and religious harmony, T1 has organised the largest racial and religious harmony celebration, Peace and Prosperity Singapura 2019 in support of SG Bicentennial. The recording breaking event at Marina Bay Floating Platform saw 720 lion dance performers dancing their way to 2 Singapore book of records, religious harmony exhibition, over 100 Malay and Indian drummers, a convoy of 54 supercars and ending the night with a fireworks display.

T1 currently has 4 main arms of social and community services ranging from community job bank, pro bono funeral, mobile clinic and transition shelter for the homeless.

1. T1 started providing pro bono funeral services in 2018 which serves destitute and bodies which have gone unclaimed regardless of race and religion. Proper rites will be accorded to the deceased last wishes or known religious ceremonies.

2. T1 has partnered with East Coast GRC in 2020 to start the community job bank Project GEM (Getting Employed Matters). The job portal works with over 100 employers across all sectors to give East Coast residents a job that is near their home. Transport allowances are also given to job seekers whom has secured a job but is unable to pay for their transport until they received their first salary. This initiative has seen over 200 residents employed till date.

3. Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, T1 has been working closely as a community partner of the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF)’s PEERS network which takes in the homeless rough. They currently have 18 bed spaces set aside and had received about 100 homeless till date. T1 is a recipient of the MSF Community Cares Awards 2021.

4. The latest initiative being the mobile clinic will see residents getting TCM treatments at their door step as the mobile clinic van goes about different areas in the East Coast GRC daily.
